Material examined. Holotype, male, Hidaka Mountain areas, Nakasatsunai Village, Tokachi, Hokkaido, Japan. 26. IX. 1998, (No. 401: 51).

Diagnostic characters. The species can be separated from other East Asian members of the genus by developed superior volsella with rounded corner, inferior volsella double-layered, anal point with 2 long lateral setae on each side.

Additional description and corrections. Based on the analysis of holotype material, the examined characters were consistent with the original description. But some additional characters should be added: Total length/ wing length 1.8. Wing length/ profemur length 2.5. Tentorium 188 µm long, 43 µm wide. Palpomeres length (in µm): –, 70, 120, 175, 275, palpomere 2 ellipsoid, 3 and 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender, palpomeres 5/ 3: 2.3. Laterosternite IX with 3 long setae. Anal point 58 µm long, basal wide 20 µm, peak wide 3 µm, with 2 long lateral setae on each side. Transverse sternapodeme 108 µm long, with weak oral projections. Gonocoxite 238 µm long. Gonostylus 108 µm long, with small triangularly costa dorsalis. Megaseta 12 µm long. HR 2.2, HV 3.3. The wing and hypopygium of holotype are re-drawn in Figs 1 A–C View FIGURE 1 A – C .

Distribution. The species occurs in Japan (Palaearctic Region).
