Lectotype (Glen in Bothalia 28: 153. 1998): Herb. Burser X: 89 ( UPS) .

Current name: Plantago coronopus L. ( Plantaginaceae ).

Note: Patzak & Rechinger (in Rechinger, Fl. Iranica 15: 5. 1965) indicated unspecified material in LINN as the type. However, the only material linked with this name is sheet 144.24, but this collection lacks the relevant Species Plantarum number (i.e. “12”) and was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and is not original material for the name.
