Zamarada erugatoides Sciarretta & Hausmann , sp. n.
( Figs 16, 17 View FIGURES 10–18 , 42 View FIGURES 42–47 , 57 View FIGURES 55–57 )
Holotype. Ƌ E-Ethiopia, Hararge Babile, Bisidimo , 1440m, 19.IV.2006, leg. R. Beck & Tamrat / BC ZSM Lep 13737; ZSM G 20325 (coll. ZSM).
Paratypes. 2Ƌ 2♀: E-Ethiopia, Hararge Babile, Bisidimo, 1440m, 19.IV.2006, leg. R. Beck & Tamrat ( ZSM G 20590 / ♀ / BC ZSM Lep 13736; ZSM G 20200 / Ƌ / BC ZSM Lep 101613 failure) (coll. ZSM) .
Etymology. The name refers to the similarity with Z. erugata Fletcher, 1974 .
Description. Adult Ƌ ♀ ( Figs. 16, 17 View FIGURES 10–18 ): Antennae bipectinate with pectination much less developed in ♀. Forewing length: 9–10 mm. Hyaline area of wings greenish, irrorated with yellowish-brown and dark brown scales; medial fascia in fore- and hindwing poorly defined brownish; costa of fore- and hindwing creamy brown, irrorated with dark brown scales; discal spot on forewing yellowish-brown, dark brown-ringed; discal spot on hind wings inconspicuous. Basal area in forewing light brownish, bordered by a darker brown line. Non-hyaline terminal area of fore- and hindwings light brown or grey, with brown or black interneural spots or streaks between R4-M3 and CuA1 on forewing and between M1–M2 on hindwing. Terminal area proximally bordered by a thin black line.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 42–47 ). Uncus tapered apically. Ventral plate of gnathos broadly rounded. Dorsal process of valva with a broad, sclerotized, apically pointed projection. Proximal part of dorsal process stout and sigmoid, distal part thin, strongly curved and pointed. Fulcrum as long as aedeagus, with the apical part slightly broadened and heavily spined. Aedeagus serrate at one side just below apex and with a single lateral cornutus-like projection.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 55–57 ). Sterigma slightly asymmetrical, with a concave anterior margin. The posterior margin of lamella postvaginalis crenulate near the ostium bursae. Ductus bursae sclerotized on one side, corpus bursae completely membranous, the single signum round and stellate.
Differential diagnosis. Differing from Z. erugata in male genitalia by the shape of gnathos, tapered in Z.erugata and rounded in Z. erugatoides , and the projection of the dorsal process of valva, triangular with the apex narrowly rounded in Z. erugata and broad apically pointed in Z. erugatoides ; in female genitalia by the shape of sterigma, being much less asymmetric in Z. erugatoides than in Z. erugata .
Genetic data. BIN: BOLD:AAJ9511 (n=2 from Ethiopia; maximum variation 0.2%). Nearest species: Z. pulverosa (4.1%), Z. erugata (4.2%).
Distribution. So far known only from Ethiopia.
