LINDNER, 1935: 410–411 (ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION).
Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo.

Syntype ♀ with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “S. Paulo [State of São Paulo] | V-1931 [v.1931]”; (2) handwritten on white paper: “ Type | Lindner | 1935 [in vertical position]; (3) handwritten on white paper: “ Hermetia | nana | Lind. [Lindner]”; (4) printed on white paper: “8.104”; (5) printed on white paper: “8.103”; (6) printed on red paper: “ Typus ”; (7) printed on red paper: “EMBRAPA”; (8) printed on white paper: “ H. nana ”.
Condition of type: one antenna (left or right unknown) and left wing slide–mounted, kept with the specimen. Missing parts: one antenna (left or right unknown), last tarsomeres of left fore leg and terminal part of abdomen, including terminalia.
