Type genus: Dicronocephalus Hope, 1831 [ Dicronocephalus is an incorrect subsequent spelling for Dicranocephalus , since the incorrect subsequent spelling is in prevailing usage, it is now considered the correct original spelling of the name under Article 33.3.1; the original spelling placed the name in homonymy with Dicranocephalus Hahn, 1826 ( Hemiptera ) but usage of the subsequent spelling as the correct spelling avoids this homonymy problem (see A. B. T. Smith 2006)].
