Diagnosis: Body linguiform, slender. Tegument almost entirely covered with small spines, which diminish somewhat in size towards posterior end of body. Oral sucker well developed, subterminal. Prepharynx absent or very short. Pharynx well developed. Oesophagus long. Intestinal bifurcation in posterior forebody. Caeca extend posteriorly well past ventral sucker, reaching or nearly reaching anterior margins of testes. Genital atrium dorsal, slightly posterior to caecal bifurcation or lateral to ventral sucker, either intracaecal or very close to one of the caeca.

Two testes, opposite, in posterior third of body. Copulatory pouch of varying size, large, usually comma-shaped, curved around ventral sucker or situated entirely anterior to ventral sucker. Copulatory pouch containing seminal vesicle, ejaculatory canal and prostatic glands. Everted cirrus not observed. Fibrous male accessory pouch (stylet pouch), containing protractible stylet-like rod, situated anterior to ventral sucker.

Ovary posterodextral to ventral sucker; seminal receptacle immediately posterior to ovary. Vitellarium consisting of numerous small follicles of unequal size and shape, distributed peripherally around central region of body occupied by gonads, uterus and terminal genitalia. Vitelline follicles reaching posterior end of body and mid-distance between suckers anteriorly. Uterine coils not very numerous, mainly in hindbody; uterus containing numerous operculate eggs. Excretory pore terminal. Excretory vesicle short, I-shaped.
