Type locality and specimens. Gymnas. Johann. Hamb. 1 Exempl.—Fundort [locality]: Montevideo .

Dimensions. Körperlänge [body length] 54 [mm], Endbeine 10,4 Mm. [length of ultimate legs 10.4 mm].

Type material. Holotype ( ZMH-A0000603 ). URUGUAY: Montevideo [ca. 34°54’S, 56°09’W]. The gonopods are stored in a seperate microvial.

Preservation. 1 jar: Label 1. Scolopendra cormocephalina n. sp. Kohlrausch Hamb. 4[0] Uryguay Montevideo (pencil); Label 2. Scolopendra cormocephalina Kohlrausch 1 Expl. Holotype ( Cormocephalus laevigata Porat ) (imprint: Zoologisches Museum Hamburg).

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 70, No. 76. Holotype.

Remarks. The specimens were originally part of the Gymnasium Johanneum collection in Hamburg (later on ZMH).

Current systematic position. Akymnopellis laevigata ( Porat, 1876) ; synonymized by Kraepelin (1903: 215).
