Dimensions. Körperlänge [body length] 63 [mm], Beinlänge 11,5 mm. [length of legs 11.5 mm].

Type material. Holotype ( ZMH-A0000635 ). U.S.A.: California [ca. 38°34’N, 121°29’W for Sacramento]. GoogleMaps

Preservation. 1 jar: Label 1. Scolopendra pachypus n. sp. E. Kohlrausch. Californien Hamb. 35 3838 (pencil); Label 2. Holotype ♀ Scolopendra pachypus Kohlrausch Vidit Crabill , 9. V.60, Hamburg (Crabill handwriting).

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 71, No. 84. Holotype.

Collection remarks. The specimen came from the private Museum Godeffroy in Hamburg. One label carries the number 3838 which may be the original Godeffroy number.

Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Scolopendra polymorpha (Wood, 1861) View in CoL according to Kraepelin (1903: 241).
