Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 67, No. 38. Paratypes 2.

Taxonomic remarks. Attems (1930: 221–223) listed Cryptops anomalans var. punicus as a synonym of Cryptops anomalans Newport, 1844 but the taxon had previously been transferred to the genus Trigonocryptops by Brölemann (1928), now a subgenus of Cryptops Leach, 1815 , as the species T. punicus .
