Type locality and specimens. An Farnwurzeln aus N.- Amerika [on fern roots from North America] (1♀) .

Dimensions. Länge ohne Analbeine [length without ultimate legs] 24 mm. mit Analbeinen [with ultimate legs] 32 mm. Breite [width] 3 mm.

Type material. Holotype ♀ ( ZMH-A0003526 ). “ NORTH AMERICA ”. No additional data [38°54’N, 77°2’W for Washington, D.C.].

Preservation. 1 jar: Label 1. An Farn Wurzeln v. Nord-Amerika, 3.XII.98, St. f. Pflanzenschutz d. 1.II.99 (imprint); Label 2. Lithobius (Polybothrus) filicium Att. Originalex. St. F. Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 72, No. 4. Holotype.

Collection remarks. Weidner (1960: 72) noted that the specimen was imported alive to Hamburg. It was found on fern roots.

Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Bothropolys multidentatus (Newport, 1845) according to Eason (1985: 3).
