Rhinoncomimus robustus Voss, 1958 View in CoL
( Figs. 7–8 View FIGURES 5 – 8 , 53 View FIGURE 53 , 81–87 View FIGURES 81 – 88 )
Rhinoncomimus robustus Voss, 1958a: 66 (in key; type locality: Fukien, Kuatun).—Korotyaev, 1997: 288 (as a distinct species); 2006: 106.—Colonnelli, 2004: 33 (in catalog)
Rhinoncomimus klapperichi: Colonnelli, 1986: 157
Supplementary description. Male. LB: 2.62–2.95 (mean, 2.82). LR: 0.63–0.79 (mean, 0.73). LP: 0.88–0.94 (mean, 0.90). N = 5 for all measurements. Male genitalia. Heavily sclerotized. Spiculum gastrale (sternite IX; Fig. 85 View FIGURES 81 – 88 ) robust, evidently longer than the penis or its apodeme, bent leftward. Tegmen ( Fig. 84 View FIGURES 81 – 88 ) with apodeme long and slender, nearly 1.4 times as long as the diameter of the tegminal ring, more or less widened toward the apex. Penis ( Figs. 81–83 View FIGURES 81 – 88 ) long and very heavily sclerotized, rather thick in profile, more or less moderately curved downward in the basal 1/5, then slightly bent upward in the apical 1/5; sides slightly broadened from the median 1/3 to the base and to the apex, then gradually convergent apically; apical projection ( Fig. 82 View FIGURES 81 – 88 ) truncate at apex. Basal part of the endophallus ( Fig. 81 View FIGURES 81 – 88 ) mostly wrapped in penis, with a pair of plate-like sclerites and numerous moderately dense minute spicules in the basal part.
Female. LB: 3.03–3.24 (mean, 3.12). LR: 0.70–0.82 (mean, 0.75). LP: 1.03–1.04 (mean, 1.04). N = 5 for all measurements. Female genitalia. Sternite VIII ( Fig. 86 View FIGURES 81 – 88 ) with a pair of patches of several minute setae near the apex; arms relatively broad, nearly 0.8 times as long as apodemes, slightly shorter than the coxite and stylus combined, moderately basally fused, and apically arcuate; apodemes slender, moderately divergent near the apex. Coxites ( Fig. 87 View FIGURES 81 – 88 ) long and slender, nearly four times longer than styli; styli apicolaterally inserted, long and slender, nearly six times longer than wide. Spermatheca ( Fig. 88 View FIGURES 81 – 88 ) with cornu slender, strongly curved and slightly attenuate; collum weakly convex; ramus indistinct; insertions of the duct and gland relatively close to each other.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Hunan).
Biological notes. Plant association remains unknown.
Remarks. This species is the largest in the genus. It can be distinguished by its strongly convex pronotum with longer subapical constriction and the thick penis. It differs from R. klapperichi and R. continuus , in its strongly curved rostrum, deeply depressed frons, and less developed mucro on male meso- and metatibia.
