Types.

Lectotype ♂ of C. tutilina at MLUH ( Endrődi 1966). Type of C. venezuelae at BMNH ( Endrődi 1966).

Distribution.

BRAZIL. COLOMBIA: Antioquia, Cauca, Chocó, Santander, Tolima. ECUADOR. VENEZUELA: Aragua, Capital District, Carabobo, Mérida.

Remarks.

Endrődi (1966, 1985a) reported C. tutilina from Mexico and Honduras. The validity of these Central American records was questioned by Ratcliffe (2003), and other recent data for Honduras and Nicaragua were based on erroneous identifications ( Ratcliffe and Cave 2006, Ratcliffe et al. 2013). Cyclocephala tutilina is likely restricted to South America.
