Remarks. This species was described based on a single specimen from Australia. Currently, it is known from Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zeeland, Greece, Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Turkey, Malta, South Africa, Malawi, Maroc, Zambia, Mozambique, Israel, United States of America (California), Mexico (Baja California, Mexico, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, Puebla, and Tlaxcala), Brazil (Bahia, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul), Paraguay, Chile, Argentina (Corrientes, Córdoba, La Rioja, Santa Fé, Entre Ríos, Buenos Aires, La Pampa, and Río Negro), and Uruguay ( Monné 2024a; Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2023).
Corrêa et al. (2020) reported P. recurva damaging specimens of Corymbia citriodora in Brazil (Minas Gerais, Viçosa) and reported: “In Brazil, this borer damaged Corymbia citriodora (Hook) Hill & Johnson ( Myrtaceae ) logs in Paranapanema, São Paulo State, Brazil, in 2001.” The first author observed P. recurva damaging specimens of Corymbia citriodora ( Figs 16–17 View FIGURES 10–17. 10 ), plant identified by Thomaz R. F. Sinani (ZUFMS), in Mato Grosso do Sul (Campo Grande).
