Types. Holotype: ♂ ( MHBU), Jiuzhaigou (33.283000°N, 103.900000°E, elev. 3000 m), Sichuan, China, 20 September 2014, Z. Zhang leg. Paratypes: 20♀♀ 5♂♂ ( MHBU), same date as holotypeGoogleMaps  .

Material examined. 2♀♀2♂♂ (MHBU) paratypes.

Diagnosis. The male of this species is similar to other congeners by having a similar conductor, a prolaterally originating embolus, and a simple median apophysis ( Figs 12A–C View Figure ) but can be distinguished by the absence of patellar apophysis, short retrolateral tibial apophysis (only ⅓ the length of tibia) and the distinctly elongated tibia. Females can be distinguished from both H. incertus  ( Wang 2003: 541, figs 47A–B) and H. pseudobrunneus  ( Figs 19A–B View Figure ) by the wrinkled epigyne, short copulatory duct, and the unique shape of the spermathecae ( Figs 10A–B View Figure ).
