Described as Pentatoma albo-costatum Spinola, 1852: 132 .

Material examined. One male and one female in fairly good condition, labeled “ ♂ ” and “ ♀ ” respectively. Male with a small, round green label, “1943”. Green label: “ Pentatoma albestatum [sic], m. ♂ et ♀., D. Gay, Chili ” .

Remarks. The male is here designated LECTOTYPE, considering there are two specimens under the same green label and to assign a single specimen of this species as the name-bearer.
