Range:— Venezuela to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, PA, SC) and Brazil. Ecology:— Fairly common; terrestrial and epiphytic, on the base of tree trunks, in humid forests; to 600(1450) m.
Often co-occurs with the commoner A. serratum ; ecological differences between the species, if any, are unclear. Notes:— Often bears buds or plantlets on the abruptly attenuate or emarginate blade apices, a feature unknown in
A. serratum . Also, the blades are crenate (vs. entire) along the margin in A. stuebelianum .
