Phimochirus californiensis (Benedict, 1892) View in CoL

Material examined. One female (ICMyL MAZ 9353A) and one juvenile (ICMyL MAZ 9353B) from Estacahuite.

Remarks. This species ranges from the Gulf of California to the Galápagos Islands (Villalobos-Hiriat et al. 1989); and into the temperate area from California ( USA) to Bahía Magdalena (Hendrickx et al. 2005). Our records from the Ixtapa and Huatulco regions close the gap in its geographic distribution in Mexican waters, ranging about 1,700 km south of the Gulf of California.
