Material examined. One specimen seen at Isla Cocina (19°33´N, 105°06´W) (CONABIO HJ011 ID 278).

Remarks. This hermit crab has been documented on both shores of the Baja California peninsula (Villalobos- Hiriart et al. 1989). Brusca (1980) mentioned that this species is probably the most abundant hermit crab in the Gulf of California. Our study provides a new site on the Mexican Pacific coast about 750 km south from the previous one.
