Fennera chacei Holthuis, 1951 View in CoL
Material examined. One male (ICMyL MAZ 9067) and one female (ICMyL MAZ 9068) from Punta Ixtapa (17°39´N, 101°38´W) in the Ixtapa region. One male (ICMyL MAZ 9066A) and one ovigerous female (ICMyL MAZ 9066B) from Islas Marietas (20°41´N, 105°34´W).
Remarks. A small palaemonid species recorded from collected material and not seen in the field. Hernández et al. (2009) recorded its northern most limit at Bahía de La Paz (24°35´N, 110°24´W) and Wicksten & Hendrickx (2003) note the Galápagos Islands as the most boreal record. We recorded this species from Islas Marietas and the Ixtapa region, providing a new site for Mexican waters about 1,200 km south of previous records.
