Distribution. Introduced. Cosmopolitan; Galápagos: Isabela (ICCDRS), San Cristóbal (ICCDRS), Santa Cruz.
Material examined. Galápagos: Santa Cruz : Miconia zone, iii. 2014, 521 m, L. Betancourt (1 ♁, CNC) .
Remarks. This species record was confirmed after examination of specimens collected in 1998 and it is believed to occur in both humid and arid zones. Larvae are found in decomposing vegetation and compost piles.
