Distribution. Introduced. Cosmopolitan; Galápagos: Isabela, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz.

Remarks. The first established record of this day-feeding species was in 2001 and it is a vector of Dengue fever ( Causton et al. 2006; Asigau et al. 2017).
