Distribution. Not determined. Galápagos: Floreana (ICCDRS), Isabela, San Cristóbal (ICCDRS), Santa Cruz, Santiago.

Material examined. Galápagos: Isabela:Alcedo, 700 m, 14.x.1998, emergida de pupa de Thyrinteina umbrosa , Leg. L. Roque (1 ♁, ICCDRS). Santa Cruz: 29.x.2000, ex. pupa Utetheisa galapagensis (5 ♁, 2 ♀, CNC, ICCDRS). Santiago: Aguacate Camp, 550 m, mossy forest, MT, 7–13.iv.1992, S.B. Peck (1 ♀, CNC).

Remarks. Adults of this species were reared from the endemic species, Thyrinteina umbrosa Herbulot (Geometridae) , collected on Isabela and Utetheisa galapagensis (Wallengren) (Erebidae) on Santa Cruz. Specimens were collected in sea surface nets between islands ( Peck 1994b). This appears to be a species near H. virilis Aldrich & Webber (D.M. Wood pers. comm.).
