Differential diagnosis. Dinas angusticeps has narrow elongate elytra in male, and much wider and more oval elytra in female; rostrum is distinctly narrowed in the middle ( Fig. 2A View Fig ) (in contrast to Microspina species from the Southern Chain, see Table 2). Dinas angusticeps has more stout, apically widened and flattened, long erect setae on the whole elytra ( Fig. 3D View Fig ), than D. afonsoi sp. nov., which has stout, apically pointed, not flattened, long setae in apical third of elytra only ( Fig. 3B View Fig ) and to D. obsita which has only a few stout long erect setae on the whole elytra ( D. sitonaeformis and D. pallipes lack erect setae ( Fig. 3C View Fig )). Rostrum wide (the narrowest part) as its length (ratio 1: 1) (in contrast to D. angustula – rostrum slightly wider than its length (ratio 1: 0.83).

Bionomics. No data on biology are available for this species.

Distribution. Cape Verde Islands – São Nicolau (western part); only the type series is known for this species.
