Typhlodromina tropica, Muma View in CoL and Denmark 1969: 412; Moraes et al. 2004: 306; Chant and McMurtry 2007: 169. Typhlodromus aristidesi El-Banhawy 1976: 532 (synonym, according to Chant and Yoshida-Shaul 1983). Typhlodromus tropicus aristidesi, Chant and Yoshida-Shaul 1983: 1048 .

FEMALE. (3 specimens measured)

Dorsal shield 353 (333–388) long, 263 (255–275) wide; j1 27 (25–29), j3 41 (38–44), j4 28 (26–32), j5 29 (24–33), j6 38 (35–41), J2 38 (34–42), J5 9 (9–10), z2 25 (20–30), z3 41 (38–43), z4 52 (49–58), z5 34 (31– 40), Z4 68 (63–72), Z5 68 (64–70), s4 50 (47–56), s6 58 (52–66), S5 51 (50–52), r3 23 (22–23), R1 16 (15– 18); distances between ST1-ST3 56 (55–58), ST2-ST2 64 (63–65) and ST5-ST5 73 (70–75); ventrianal shield 107 (100–120) long, 68 (65–70) wide at level of ZV2 and 59 (55–63) wide at level of anus; JV5 50; calyx of spermatheca 26 (23–28) long; Sge IV 27 (25–29), Sti IV 24 (20–27), St IV 46 (45–47). Chaetotaxy: genu II - 2, 2/0, 2/0, 1; genu III - 1, 2/1, 2/0, 1.

Specimens examined. Ica: Chincha-Sunampe, 17-V-2006, Vitis vinifera (1Ψ). San Martín: Moyobamba (6° 2' 55" S, 76° 58' 14" W), 28-VII-2006, on Solanum caricaefolium (1Ψ). Amazonas: Chachapoyas-Limon Punta (6° 13' 27" S, 77° 54' 13" W), 31-VII-2006, on Citrus sinensis (1Ψ). Cajamarca: Jaén-Tila Alta (Segunda Etapa) (5° 43' 57" S, 78° 57' 13" W), 5-VIII-2006, on Datura stramonium (3Ψ, 1%).

Previous records. Brazil, Canary Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Honduras, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Peru and Venezuela.

Remarks. The females collected in this study agree the measurements of the holotype of T. aristidesi .
