CHINA: Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Nileke County, Zhaikou Hydroelectric Power Plant area, 43°47'N, 82°29'E, 1.092 m a.s.l., 6 males, 9.viii.2002, Hongqu Tang (BDN No. 21169, 21170, 21171, 21172, 21173, 21713); Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Tekesi County, 43°12'N, 81°49'E, 1.205 m a.s.l., 1 male, 4.viii.2002, Hongqu Tang (BDN No. 21286); Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Aketao County, 39°52'N, 76°40'E, 4.322 m a.s.l., 2 males, 19.viii.2002, Hongqu Tang (BDN No. 21448, 21600).

Emended description. Male (n = 9). Total length 3.90–4.60, 4.28 mm. Wing length 2.40–2.75, 2.55 mm. Total length / wing length 1.60–1.70, 1.65. Wing length / length of profemur 2.70–3.00, 2.80. AR 1.7–2.1, 1.8. Tentorium 170–200, 189 µm long; 35–50, 41 µm wide. Temporal setae 8–12, including 3–5, 4 inner verticals and 5–7, 6 outer verticals. Clypeus with 8–10, 9 setae. Palpomeres length (in µm): 45; 50–58, 55; 105–130, 117; 100–130, 120; 132–228, 173. Palpomere 5/3: 1.50–1.75, 1.65. VR 1.04–1.30, 1.15. Costal extension 30–50 µm long. R with 5 setae, brachiolum with 1 seta. Squama with 19–27, 22 setae. Prealars 2–4, 3. Scutellum 7–10, 8 setae. Spur of fore tibia 60–80, 68 µm long; spurs of mid tibia 25–35, 30 µm and 18–23, 21 µm long; of hind tibia 70–75, 72 µm and 10–15, 12 µm long. Hind tibial comb with 12 setae. Width at apex of fore tibia 45–50, 48 µm; of mid tibia 48–55, 52 µm; of hind tibia 55–60, 58 µm. Sensilla chaetica 18–24, 20 on ta1 of hind leg. Anal point 23–28, 25 µm long. Laterosternite IX with 7–9, 8 setae. Phallapodeme 80–83, 81 µm long; transverse sternapodeme 145–170, 155 µm long. Gonocoxite 275–305, 284 µm long. Gonostylus 123–145, 134 µm long; megaseta 15 µm long. HR 2.1–2.2, 2.2; HV 3.1–3.3, 3.2.

Remarks. The species was figured and redescribed by Hirvenoja (1973). The emended description above is based on the Chinese specimens.

Distribution. The species has a Holarctic distribution including Palaearctic China.
