Diagnosis. Body size 381–431 × 232–265. Body surface smooth. Rostrum rounded. Rostral and lamellar setae similar in lenght. Interlamellar seta represented by alveolus. Exobothridial seta minute. Sensillus spindle-form. Lamellar seta inserted nearer to bothridium than to rostral seta. Alveolus of seta c present, the other nine pairs of notogastral setae of medium length. Lyrifissure iad located in inverse apoanal position.

Description. Measurements. Body length 415 (holotype), 381, 431 (two paratypes); notogaster width 249 (holotype), 232, 265 (two paratypes).

Integument ( Figs 16, 18 View FIGURES 16 – 24 ). Body color light brown. Body surface smooth. Subcapitular mentum and genae densely microfoveolate (visible under high magnification, × 1000). Lateral side of prodorsum microgranulate, latero-dorsal side with two muscle sigillae and transversal, short, thin fold.

Prodorsum ( Figs 16, 18–21 View FIGURES 16 – 24 ). Rostrum rounded. Lamellar and translamellar lines absent.Rostral seta (28–36) setiform, barbed. Lamellar seta (32–38) setiform, with short cilia in medio-distal part. It is inserted nearer to bothridium than to rostral seta. Interlamellar seta absent, but alveolus developed. Sensillus (90–102) spindle-form, slightly barbed and with large tooth near tip. Exobothridial seta (ex) minute (2). Interbothridial region with two pairs of weakly developed tubercles, which are directed to anterior margin of notogaster.

Notogaster ( Figs 16, 18 View FIGURES 16 – 24 ). Anterior margin weakly convex. Alveolus of seta c present. Nine pairs of notogastral setae of medium length; p 1 and p 2 (32–45) shorter than others (53–65). Seta la inserted latero-posteriorly to lm. Lyrifissures ia, im, ip, ih and ips distinct, thin, located typically for genus. Opisthonotal gland opening located posteriorly to seta h 3.

Gnathosoma. Morphology of subcapitulum, palps and chelicerae similar to Cycloppia asetosa sp. nov. Subcapitulum longer than wide (90 × 65). Subcapitular setae setiform, slightly barbed; h and m (both 28–32) longer than a (16–20). Adoral setae short (4), thorn-like, smooth. Palp (53) with setation 0–2–1–3–8(+ω). Solenidion long, thickened, blunt-ended, pressed to the palptarsus surface. Chelicera (90) with two setiform, barbed setae; cha (28) longer than chb (16). Trägårdh’s organ long, conical.

Epimeral and lateral podosomal regions ( Figs 17, 18, 22 View FIGURES 16 – 24 ). Epimeral setae 1c, 3c, 4a and 4c (36–41) longer than others (20–28). Pedotectum I convex. Discidium large, triangular, pointed.

Anogenital region ( Figs 17, 23 View FIGURES 16 – 24 ). Four pairs of genital (12–16), one pair of aggenital (20–24), two pairs of anal (20–24) and three pairs of adanal (24–32) setae setiform, slightly barbed. Lyrifissure iad located in inverse apoanal position.

Legs ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 16 – 24 ). Morphology of leg segments, setae and solenidia similar to Cycloppia asetosa sp. nov. Homology of setae and solenidia indicated in Table 1 View TABLE 1 .

Type deposition. The holotype is deposited in the collection of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, Russia; one paratype is in the collection of the Siberian Zoological Museum, Novosibirsk, Russia; one paratype is in the personal collection of the first author.

Etymology. The specific name “ spindleformis ” refers to the spindle-form sensilli.

Remarks. Cycloppia spindleformis sp. nov. clearly differs from all species of the genus Cycloppia by the presence of interlamellar alveoli (versus interlamellar setae developed or both setae and their alveoli absent).
