Remarks. This is a relatively small larva with very broad wing pads. It is only known from Hainan island and is widespread in the montane area. Two Chlorogomphus species were recorded from Hainan island, C. gracilis and C. usudai , and larva of C. usudai was confirmed from the streams in Yinggeling Reserve, where C. gracilis is absent and the adults of C. usudai are common.
