Material examined. CHINA: Fujian Province, 1♂, Sangang, 15.vii.1984, coll. Wang Sizheng; Guangdong Prov., Taam Yuan Tung, Lin-halen (District), coll. F. K. To, 2♀♀, 26–27.v.1934, 3♀♀, 29–30.v.1934; 1♀, 15–19.vi.1934; 1♀, Lung-tau shan summit, 1200m, 6.vi.1947, coll. Gressitt & T. S. Lam; 1♀, Mt. Longtou, Qujiang, vi.1947 (all ZSU); Guangxi Prov., 1♀, Mt. Shengtang, Jinxiu, 900m, 17.v.1999, coll. Zhang Xuezhong (IOZ).

Remarks. The external appearance and genitalia of the single male examined here and males identified as D. ineffectus by Zhang & Webb (1996, Figs 72, 320–326, 541) are similar but the genitalia of the former differs in having two rather than one ventro-posterior pygofer process and the aedeagal shaft more elongate with the posterior flanges broader. There is also variation in the pregenital sternite ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 B–D) in females examined of similar appearance to the males from the same localities. Further material is needed to establish if the observed differences are specific or represent variation of a single species.
