Distribution. Newportia longitarsis longitarsis is known from the West Indies ( Cuba, Haiti, Saint Vincent, Dominica, Grenadines and Trinidad) and South America ( Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Brazil) ( Kraepelin 1903; Attems 1930; Bücherl 1942; Schileyko & Minelli 1998). In Colombia it has been found in Santa Marta, Caribbean Región, and around the district of Bogotá in the Páramo Chisacá in the Andean Región.

Altitudinal range. 9 to 2650 m.
