El Diamante, E. González, 26-IX-1999, 1000 m, Winkler , Bosque Alto de Herrera, ZMUC, 1 specimen, near Bogotá, Páramo de Monserrate, H. Sturm, 13.x.1920 .

Distribution. Newportia pusilla has been reported from the West Indies ( Saint Vincent) and South America ( Venezuela and Brazil). It was also doubtfully recorded from Cuba and Colombia by Schileyko and Minelli (1998). We now confirm its occurrence in the Andean Región of Colombia.

Altitudinal range. 1000 to 2745 m.
