Type Locality: Colombia, Cundinamarca Dept. , Bogotá Region, 8750 ft (2667 m).

Vernacular Names: Soft-furred Thomasomys.

Synonyms: Thomasomys emeritus Thomas 1916 .

Distribution: Andes of C Colombia and adjacent W Venezuela (see Linares, 1998:Fig. 149).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Chromosomal, mensural, and ecological discrimination from T. niveipes in Colombia presented by Gómez-Laverde et al. (1997); karyotypic formula for Venezuelan populations reported by Aguilera et al. (2000).
