Remarks.
Junior homonym of Melanopsis brevis Sowerby, 1826. Pallary (1916: 81) introduced Melanopsis abbreviata as replacement name, which is itself a junior homonym of Melanopsis abbreviata Brusina, 1874 (see Melanopsis doncieuxi Wenz, 1919 and Melanopsis atacica Wenz, 1928).
