Current status. Halictus (Halictus) brunnescens ( Eversmann, 1852) (according to Pesenko 1984a: 10).

Remark. Description of male: Friese 1916: 29–30, as Halictus quadricinctus var. aegyptiacus (synonymized by Pesenko 1984d: 346).

Distribution. Europe, Russia (European part, North Caucasus, Crimea, Urals, Eastern Siberia), North Africa, Israel, Asia Minor, Caucasus, Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Pakistan, Northwestern and Northern China ( Pesenko 2005b).
