Geranium striatum Linnaeus , Systema Naturae, ed. 10, 2: 1143. 1759, nom. illeg.
["Habitat in Italia."] Cent. I Pl.: 21 (1755). RCN: 4979.
Replaced synonym: Geranium versicolor L. (1755) .
Lectotype (designated here by Aedo): [icon] " Geranium Romanum versicolor " in Morison, Pl. Hist. Univ. 2: 516, s. 5, t. 16, f. 24. 1680. - Epitype (designated here by Aedo): Italy. Sicily Nebrodi, cruce de la carretera con el arroyo Torti, 37° 53′N, 14° 39′E, 1,300m, 8 Jun 2000, M.A. Garcia & al. 1481 (MA-645561).
Current name: Geranium versicolor L ( Geraniaceae ).
Note: As noted by Nordenstam (in Bot. Not. 114: 277. 1961), this is a superfluous renaming of G. versicolor !.. (1755). Geranium striatum also appears in the slightly later reprint of Cent. I Pl. (in Amoen. Acad. 4: 282. Nov 1759).
