Hab. Brazil.

Mr. Bates informs us that this species forms its elliptical chamber or dwelling in the walls of the tumuli of a species of white ant; it is of a ferruginous colour, with the head and apical segments of the abdomen black; the margins of the segments of the latter rufo-piceous; the mandibles and antennae ferruginous, the latter more or less fuscous above; it is 3 1/2 lines in length.
