TYPE SPECIES: Delphinus peronii Lacépède, 1804 View in CoL .

SYNONYMS: Delphinapterus (part), Leucorhamphus , Tursio .

COMMENTS: This may be a monotypic genus. The holotype of Lagenorhynchus thicolea , previously associated with Lagenorhynchus , is a specimen of Lissodelphis spp.
