Diagnosis. Scutum entirely black. Fore coxa yellow, mid and hind coxae brown; femora yellow except for distal 1/ 6 of fore femur, distal 1/4 of mid femur and distal 1/3 of hind femur brown; tibiae and tarsi brown except for tibiae yellow basally. R4+5 and M1+2 convergent distally. Cercus incised on ventral margin, the depth 1/3 of its height. Postgonite with a long process on inner distal end.

Description. Male. Body length 2.2–2.7 mm, wing length 2.1–2.3 mm.

Head yellow with gray microtomentum, 0.9 times as long as high; face yellow, somewhat concave in lateral view, without facial carina; frons black except for anterior 1/4 yellow, 0.9 times as long as wide, projecting only slightly in front of eye; gena yellow with ventral margin black, broad, 0.5 times as wide as first flagellomere; parafacial indistinct. Ocellar triangle black, reaching anterior 3/4 of frons, with a pointed anterior apex; ocellar tubercle light brown. Occiput and postgena black. Clypeus light brown. Cephalic setae and setulae black. Antenna yellow with thick grayish microtomentum except for dorsal 1/2 of first flagellomere brown; first flagellomere 0.8 times as long as wide; arista brown with short brown setulae. Proboscis bright brown to yellow with brown setulae; palpus yellow with black setulae.

Thorax black with gray microtomentum. Scutum as long as wide. Thoracic pleuron shiny brown without microtomentum except for posteroventral portion of propleuron, anteroventral portion of anepisternum, anterior portion of katepisternum bright black. Scutellum 0.7 times as long as wide; ap sc developed, 1.7 times as long as scutellum; sap sc 1.2 times as long as scutellum. Setae and setulae on thorax black, developed; npl 1+1, a npl developed, p npl hair-like, subequal to a npl; a pa developed; p pa hair-like, subequal to a pa; 1 presutural dc and 3 postsutural dc, the posterior one longer than others. Fore coxa yellow, mid and hind coxae brown; femora yellow except for distal 1/6 of fore femur, distal 1/4 of mid femur and distal 1/3 of hind femur brown; tibiae and tarsi brown except for tibiae yellow basally. Setulae on legs black. Mid and hind tibiae each with a short black apical spur, which are shorter than diameter of tibia. Tibial organ oblong, narrow. Wing 2.5 times as long as wide, hyaline; veins brown. Relative lengths of 2nd: 3rd: 4th costal sections = 4: 3: 1; r-m at basal 0.5 of discal cell; R4+5 and M1+2 convergent distally. Halter pale yellow.

Abdomen brown with gray microtomentum except for sides of tergite 1 black; venter yellow. Setulae on abdomen black.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 8–11 View FIGURES 8 – 11 ): Epandrium brown with ventrodistal corner narrowly prolonged; surstylus acute apically. Cercus weakly convex on dorsal margin, incised on ventral margin, the depth 1/3 of its height. Postgonite and pregonite subequal in length, postgonite with a long process on inner distal end; distiphallus longer than basiphallus in lateral view; phallapodeme long with basal stalk broad in lateral view. Hypandrium narrowed.

Female. Body length 2.8–3.9 mm, wing length 2.6–3.1 mm.

Female genitalia ( Figs. 12–14 View FIGURES 12 – 14 ): epiproct pentagonal, distinctly wider than long, with 4 long setae; hypoproct long, apically round with long stout setae. Cercus short and stout with some long setae.

Type material. Holotype ♂, CHINA: Sichuan: Emei Mountain, Jingshui, 800 m, 14. VIII. 2009, Coll. Yan Li. Paratypes 15 ♂♂, 44 ♀♀, same data as holotype. 8 ♂♂, 15 ♀♀, same place as holotype, 14. VIII. 2010, Coll. Junchao Wang. Guangxi: 78 ♂♂, 44 ♀♀, Binyang, 110 m, 11. X. 2005, Coll. Yinxia Liao. Hainan: 1 ♂, 1 ♀, Wuzhishan, Guanshantai, 600 m, 29. X. 2007, Coll. Ding Yang.

Distribution. China (Sichuan, Guangxi, Hainan).

Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to A. tomentosa Cherian , but can be separated from the latter by the following features: proboscis bright brown to yellow; mid tibia brown with yellow basally; hind tibia with a short black apical spur; R4+5 and M1+2 convergent distally. In A. tomentosa , the proboscis is brownish black; the mid tibia is yellowish except for brown at middle; the hind tibia lacks a short black apical spur; the R4+5 and M1+2 are divergent distally ( Cherian 2002).

Etymology. The specific name is from the Latin longi- (“long”) and processus (“processus”), referring to the postgonite with a long process on inner distal end.
