* Megalops atlanticus Cuvier & Valenciennes, 1847 Not recorded for Madeira by Hureau in Whitehead et al. (1984). MMF 26941, new record for Madeira:

one specimen (SL 1530 mm) caught at Porto Santo Island in 1996.
