Key to species of Globorentonium

1. Elytral punctation denser, punctures separated by about two diameters; vestiture of moderately long, recumbent, fine hairs forming a swirling or shot-silk pattern ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 C–F, 2C); outer edge of protibia broadly rounded and lined with close-set, short spines for most of its length ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D); sutures separating basal abdominal ventrites vaguely indicated ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A); gulamentum with short, transverse, crescentic impression just anterior to transverse groove ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 B); antennomere 3 1.5 times as long as wide; southeastern Australia and Tasmania................................................... G. globulum sp. n.

- Elytral punctation sparser, punctures separated by more than two diameters; vestiture of short, decumbent to suberect, fine hairs, not forming swirling pattern ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 A–B); outer edge of protibia somewhat angulate and lined mainly with fine hairs or with close-set, short spines at apex only ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C, 4E, 5B); sutures separating basal abdominal ventrites either well-developed or completely absent; gulamentum without short, crescentic impression ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 D, 4B); antennomere 3 not or barely longer than wide ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 B, 4C, 5C)................................................................................ 2

2. Frontoclypeal suture present; sutures separating basal ventrites absent, so that abdomen appears to have only two ventrites ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 D); prosternal process narrowly acute at apex; tegmen (Fig. ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 G) more than 7 times as long as wide, with short, broad parameres ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 H); ovipositor twice as long as wide; southeastern Brazil.................... G. plaumanni sp. n.

- Frontoclypeal suture absent; sutures separating basal ventrites well-developed, so that all five ventrites are distinct ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 A, 4G); prosternal process rounded at apex; tegmen ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 E) at most 5 times as long as wide, with moderately long, apically expanded parameres; ovipositor less than 1.5 times as long as wide; northern New South Wales.......... G. lescheni sp. n.
