So far this rare lichen has been known from Brazil, Colombia and Taiwan ( Vainio 1890; Makhija & Patwardhan 1985, 1994; Aptroot & Sparrius 2003; Sipman et al. 2008).
Specimen examined. BOLIVIA. Dept. La Paz: Prov. Nor Yungas, Coroico, 16°11’10”S, 67°43’16”W, 1550 m, Yungas montane forest, corticolous, 6 June 2010, AF 16427.3 & PR (LPB).
