Colpocephalum sp.

Material examined: 1♂, Gyps bengalensis , Nepal .

Measurements: HL 032 mm, HW: 0.49 mm; HI 0.65; MtW 0.42 mm; AL 0.94 mm; AW 0.53 mm; ToL 1.69 mm.

Remarks. Two species of Colpocephalum : Col. satellitum ( Eichler & Złotorzycka, 1963b) and Col. turbinatum Denny, 1842 are known from white-rumped vultures ( Price et al. 2003: 317). Colpocephalum satellitum was described from Gyps bengalensis , but without adequate morphological features to identify this species, and we are unaware of any proper redescription. On the other hand, Colpocephalum turbinatum is known from many hosts and has been well redescribed by Price & Beer (1963). Considering that our single specimen is in poor condition, due to damage during re-mounting, we are unable to identify it to species.
