Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white label: “Sanlong / 90.6.12”; (2) handwritten on white label: “collector Anxiao Deng ”; (3) printed on red label: “ HOLOTYPE ”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ Pegohylemyia / mediotubera / Identifier: Anxiao Deng ”; (5) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ TYPE / Pegohylemyia / mediotubera / (Deng, Li et Liu) ”.

Preservation: pinned; genitalia dissected and mounted on slide pinned with the specimen. Missing parts: left hind leg; tarsi of right fore and mid leg.

Paratypes: 2 males with the same labels respectively: (1) handwritten on white label: “Sanlong / 90.6.11”; (2) handwritten on white label: “collector Anxiao Deng”; (3) printed on yellow label: “ PARATYPE ”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ PARATYPE / Pegohylemyia / mediotubera / (Deng, Li et Liu) ”.

Preservation: pinned, one with left wing damaged. Missing parts: one without left hind leg; tarsus of right fore leg and the other without left hind leg.

Additional notes: Labels of holotype and paratypes pinned by Anxiao Deng, but the date of collection on the labels (90.6.12/90.6.11) do not match with the date in the original publication (1990.VII.14).

Current name: Botanophila mediotubera ( Deng, Li & Liu, 1996) .
