34 Emys orbicularis View in CoL - The lack of genetic differentiation of pond turtles from Sardinia (and Corsica) supports the view that the subspecies described from these islands (respectively E. o. capolongoi Fritz 1995 and E. o. lanzai Fritz 1995 ) are not valid (Pedall et al., 2010).
