Type locality.

Dominican Republic; stratum: "Santo Domingan Beds" (either Cercado or Gurabo Formations); age: Miocene/Pliocene.

Type material.

Holotype, ANSP IP3188 (as “type” in Richards 1968: 169); paratypes, ANSP IP79026, 2 shells.

Current taxonomic status.

Volvulella cylindrica parallela (Pilsbry & Johnson, 1917) ( Woodring 1970).
