Distribution.Moroccan endemism, recently described by Kment et al. (2016). This species is a new record for the study area. This species could have been previously confused with Hebrus pusillus(Fallén 1807). During the sampling period, H. atlaswas found at upper Moulouya and Melloulou rivers, corresponding to the eastern Middle Atlas, and at Jbel El Himmer Mount ( Fig. 2).
