It is characterized in the male by the abruptly bent style and ventral plate narrowed at both sides, and in the pupa by the gill composed of eight short slender filaments arranged 3+3+2 filaments with short stalks arising from the short common basal stalk.  The aquatic stages of this species breed in small streams in low to medium elevations (  159–1,160 m) in Cameron Highlands( Ya’cob et al., 2016b) and other areas in Peninsular Malaysia. This species was recorded from Thailand ( Kuvangkadilok and Takaoka, 2000), where it was cytogenetically shown to be a species complex consisting of three cytoforms ( Pramual and Kuvangkadilok, 2012). There is a possibility that the record of this species from Thailand by Kuvangkadilok and Takaoka (2000)might have been wrongly made, based on  S. ( G.) isanenseTakaoka, Srisuka & Saeung, a close ally of  S.
