Median bristles on anal tergite sitting on dark, chitinized humps or edgings. Dorsal setae of superior volsella confined to anal median part. Median volsella long, distal subulate lamellae reaching far beyond tip of inferior volsella. Inferior volsella elongated, not branched, its distal part conically tapering. The characters used in this paper are those presented by Yan et al (1979)and Reiss & Säwedal (1981).   Distribution:This species is widely distributed in Europe and Asia (e.g., China, and Tibet) It has a typical Holarctic distribution.
