The summer generation switches the host plant from different woody species (  Quercusspp.,  Fagus sylvatica,  Alnus glutinosa,  Corylus avellanaand  Betula pubescens)to  Rubus fruticosusand lays the eggs on this evergreen plant for overwintering.
