The species is non-native to Chile, as native populations are considered from northern parts of South America to the southern parts of the US(see Marshall et al.2015; Ståhls et al.2020). For the country, the historical spread of the species is still to be mapped, only Elgueta (1989)reported the species to occur from the Valparaíso Region to Los Lagos Region (between 30°Sto 45°S), with the oldest record dated in 1981.
