Female.Mandibles in appearence similar to  A. scutellaris, short and crossing; tentorial pits surrounded by large deep hollows; malar space concave at base of mandibles with feebly developed, short malar keel.  Male.Differs from the female by the cylindrical flagellomeres and emarginate flagellomere 1.  Variability.The species varies in the length/width ratio of the flagellomeres, shape of the radial cell, shape of the gaster, and striation at the base of the gaster.  Differential diagnosis.This species is closely related to  A. scutellarisfrom which it differs by the presence of a short, indistinct malar keel and short mandibles.  Bionomics.Flight period July to September; hosts unknown.   Distribution. France( KIEFFER 1909).
